Instructions for Course Selections and Registrations

1) REGISTRATIONS FOR 2020-2021 FALL SEMESTER DISTANCE EDUCATION WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 7-8-9, 2020, THROUGH WEB SITE "register.metu.edu.tr". THERE WILL BE NO SELECTION TO REGISTER TO COURSES. THE CLASSES WILL BEGIN ON OCTOBER 12, 2020 MONDAY ACCORDING TO COURSE SCHEDULE.

2) STUDENTS WITH C.GPA UNDER 1.79 CANNOT TAKE ANY COURSES FROM  THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC AND FINE ARTS.

3) THE CAPACITY OF THE COURSES WOULD NOT BE CHANGED.

4) GRADUATE STUDENTS CAN TAKE OUR COURSES AS “NOT INCLUDED”.


Department of Music and Fine Arts 2020-2021 Fall Semester Distance Education Plan


Our university has decided that 2020-2021 Fall Semester will be held as distance education. Therefore, both theoretical and practical courses will be done online. You could find the details regarding to registration, teaching of the courses and instruments.

 

DISTANCE EDUCATION OF THEORETICAL COURSES

(History of Instrument, History of Jazz, History of Music, Art and Science Culture, Basic and Advanced Digital Photography Techniques, International News, Media Economics, History of Art, Modernism and Postmodernism in Art, Glass, Ceramics, Film Analysis, Prehistoric Art)

 

Courses will be held Synchronous or Asynchronous depending on the decision of the instructor.

 

Registration of Theoretichal Courses

All the theoretichal courses named above will be thought in dinstance learning and the registrations will be held on October 7th, 2020 at 14:00 via register.metu.edu.tr

 

DISTANCE EDUCATION OF PRACTICAL COURSES

(Voice, Bass Guitar, Flute, Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Classical Guitar, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone)

All the practical courses will be thought Synchronous via Cisco Webex that our university bought licence. Students must have essential devices providing sufficient audio and video for synchronous courses.

 

Registration of Practical Courses

There will not be selection and audition in 2020-2021 Fall Semester and courses will be added via “oibs.metu.edu.tr”.

All the practical courses will be thought by distance education and the registration will be on October 7th, 2020 at 14:00 via oibs.metu.edu.tr.

For practical courses, the priority will be given to old students and students with their own instruments. New students will be added if there is available quota.

The limited number of instruments (except guitar, bass guitar and flute) will be provided by the department.

Students who register to classical guitar, bass guitar and flute must provide their own instruments.

Debits of instruments to students who register for the courses will be done at Department of Music and Fine Arts by making an appointment. (Please contact to 03122103639, Erdal Okumuş)

Students must bring a copy of METU ID and Identity Card (Copy of Passport for foreign students), their number and address written on it for debit of the instruments.

Students without debit instruments or their own instruments will be marked as failed at the end of the semester. Therefore, students who do not fulfil the requirements should not add the course.
